The United Arab Emirates is made up of seven emirates: Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Dubai, Fujairah, Ras al-Khaimah, Sharjah and Umm al-Quwain.
Documents destined for the United Arab Emirates usually need to be notarised by a UK Notary Public or other public official like a registrar of births and deaths. After the document has been notarised it must be sent to the United Kingdom Foreign & Commonwealth Office, Legalisation Office who will affix an Apositlle confirming the UK Notary’s signature and seal. The document is then lodged with the UAE Consulate in London. Please check the UAE Consulate page for an up-to-date assessment of their fees click here. The UAE Consulate in London operate a same day service with drop off in the morning from 9.00 am to 2pm, with collection from 2.30pm.
