Brazil has acceeded to the Hauge Convention (the Apostille Convention). The accession will enter into force from 14th August 2016 meaning that for a document to be legal in Brazil, an Apostille is all that is needed and from this date there will no longer be the need for consular legalisation. To see the summary from the HCCH, click here.
Morrocco has also acceded to the Apostille Convention and from effect from 14 August 2016 an Apostille will suffice to make a document legal in Morrocco. For official details click here.
For personal documents a personal appearance is now required at the Pakistan High Commission. This means that, for private matters, individuals can no longer send an agent. For a link to the Pakistan Commission in the United Kingdom, click here.
A note to Notaries and clients of Notaries, remember that the Chinese Consulate expects to see Notarial documents which contain two pages or more, bound with a ribbon and sealed on to the paper with a wafer seal, making it tamper proof. Please follow this procedure to avoid delays. See here for a link to the PRC Consulate’s website.
